They didn't. Only one of the pupils tried to enter and see what's on Nicenet.
I am not giving up. I think I should plan a lesson in which they will enter and
get familiarized with it. Hopefully, that will help.
Unfortunately, they didn't learn as well as I hoped for either. It seems I have to give them a lot more homework because they do not have enough learning habits to help themselves.
we'll see.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI think they weren't interested in the Nicenet class because they have a test. Even if the exercises on Nicenet are revision exercises, students will feel reluctant to try something new before a test. They feel more comfortable to revise the traditional old way. Don't give up! Keep trying.
Wish you the best of luck

I agree with Nada. When I tried to use the webquest with my kids, even though they liked the information and videos which were there, they still came to class and said that they understood nothing so that they can be able to get off the hook and delay the test related to the material. However, when we watched the videos together and discussed the material, they were very interested and debated the topic very well.
ReplyDeleteBetter luck next time,
Charbel
Hi Nourit,
ReplyDeleteThey didn't ! They might be like Thai students. If no scores involve learning activities, they rarely participate. Can you give them extra scores for their participation? This might motivate them somehow.
I'd be happy to hear from you again.
Good luck,
Moo
Hello Friend!
ReplyDeleteDon´t worry about it! they´re right. Maybe they were more interested in the test rather than using nicenet. At least, you are working with it. I do not even have the resources yet. For using it, I need to ask for a special permission for taking my students out of the school. So I´ve couldn´t used technology yet. Don´t worry. take your time and do not hesitate.

ReplyDeleteYou are describing a perfect final project for our class. You are trying to solve a problem with technology. You are welcome to use this pilot and expand upon it as your final project.
One thought, I'm wondering if there is a way to make an answer or hint at an answer in the Nicenet that would "reward" those who do use it. Maybe only a few people would use it at first, but the word might quickly spread and before long everyone might be using it.
